Its a different animal- Its never going to have the performance of your 335- you can spend $2000, and even if you got 40 more HP, you still won't be satisfied.

Drop that top and enjoy it, or sell it.

yes, I drove it before I bought it -- I knew I wanted it about 20 seconds into the test drive. I love convertibles -- my 135i was a CV also. I liked the 335i sedan just fine, but just missed the open air. As much as any of us would like more power, I'd trade having a CV for 70 horsepower.

Not planning on selling the new car....I've only had it for 5 days. I normally keep my cars for at least 7 days before considering selling them. Just kidding!

Thanks for the tips. Happy driving.

Glad you are warming up to your new ride. Save that money you were going to spend on HP and upgrade your tires/wheels/suspension. You'll love it even more. Enjoy!

See my sig. About $1500. After that the modding gets $$$. Don't know if the '13 N52 has the 3 stage intake or not?

Still no response from PowerChip -- apparent poor customer service. Not sure why they wouldn't respond to a potential customer.

Thanks all....gonna check out the other options suggested!

I remember a memeber named E90Pilot tried powerchip quite a few years ago and didnt have much luck with them. its in his 3 stage conversion thread, but its like 3000 pages long so you might not want to go through all of that

Throw a performance exhaust, drop the top, and it'll feel like a 400hp car lol. In reality 20-30 hp won't make much of a difference in a heavy e93.just enjoy it the way it is!

My only comment is the best answer is 3-stage intake, exhaust, and re-flash the ECU, BUT then you'll void the warranty, which from your discussion was one of your considerations for buying the car in the first place.

The issue you have is you've owned the 335i. Had you never owned nor driven the 335i, you'd not think your E93 is "slow". It's a cruiser, drive it as such.

maybe a strut brace would make it feel more racecar since convertibles are a little less rigid than sedans/coupes also

I went from an E90 335i JB4 auto to an E92 328i manual. I wanted a coupe and a manual tranny.

Best advice so far is the PE. Yes, the N54/N55 is fantastic, but I honestly have more fun with the 328. The 335 can barely stretch it's legs in routine driving so the 328 is more engaging.

My .02 -- throw on a performance exhaust and call it quits. Enjoy the great sounding, smooth i6. It also helps that it's a reliable motor.

Thanks for the tip -- you have the AA performance exhaust on your 328? Any noticeable gain in HP / Torque?
How easy to install.....or did you take it to a shop? Looks like the cost is $599?
thanks.....

Take those wheels off, they are boat anchors. Get some light weight wheels like ARCs and you will feel the accel, braking and handling difference. Also, get the 3 st int mfd, AA tune, CAI and exhaust. You should be @ 260 or so with those mods and will not impact reliability. I would not get AA exhaust but look at PE, Dinan etc. Let that engine suck all the air it wants to, now it's chocking. Nice car!!

Thanks for the tip. A.A. never responded to my email anyway....i guess they don't want new business. Must be nice. regardless, that's just bad business to respond to a potential customer.

What is PE exhaust? I would like to get some type of a performance exhaust.

Thanks dude.

If anyone is interested: contacted Dinan (and it, by the way, was the only company to even respond). A.A. sucks.....

Dinan does not offer any performance parts for the 328. Only suspension and wheel/tire options. No exhaust, chip upgrades, etc.

The car is growing on me, probably has all the power and one man needs...... Great car. It's a cruiser.

try messaging andrew@activeautowerke on the forum. He generally responds fast and answers all your questions. They are a good vendor. I haven't bought anything from them but he has always been very helpful with my questions.
