For days, I am quite happy I can do as far as Step 6.
However, I cannot get pass Step 7. I am getting error each time I hit F6 (Back). I am determine to fresh install the Standard Tools on another lappy with much slower Processor.

Try grabbing the error message in the error log. And post it into the NCS Error thread. There may be some answers there

Unfortunately, there isn't any in the error.txt but this. If that matters

Just create FSW_PSW.man file in C:\NCSEXPER\WORK and all will be fine

Thanks all for trying to help.
I hit F3 Read ECU instead of F6 (Back). I got this screenshot. I selected the first line on top KMBI_PL2.C05 and surprisingly, I got to where it says "Get Coded".
I just want to have a Digital Speedo but not sure if I am on the right track by selecting that option. Anybody?

Finally the long agonizing Battle is over. It worked

jc_bmw...you are absolutely right! I had to code KOMBI instead of CAS per NCS-DIY.

Once again, thank you all

No problem glad to hear you finally got it working.

Just remember there's two options for that digital speed. Real or Inflated value.

I know this works for the E90 but my friend has a E46. Just wondering what do I need to add to make it E46 compatible? Besides copying the Daten files over, do I need anything else?

Followed the install instructions. I copied and replaced the SGDAT folder with the new one in the original post. When I open INPA I don't have the option to select a chassis. I noticed if I navigate to C:\\EC-APPS\INPA\CFGDAT\INPA.INI that the file is missing the chassis info. Did I miss something during the installation? Below is what is in the file:

//************************************************** ********************
//*
//* Nacharbeitsauswahl INPA
//*
//* Datei INPA.INI
//*
//************************************************** ********************
//* Drexel TI-430

Thanks for an awesome tutorial! I tried getting setup going through the main thread that has 212 pages, and it was rough going. Ran into an issue that I hoped your guide would resolve, but after following all the steps I'm still getting it. When I try to run the INPA Loader, there are no chassis selections or much of anything to select. Any ideas?

Ok so I got INPA to work and created my profile in NCSEXPERT no problem. However, when I try to backup the entire car before doing any coding, I get this error:

Which translated means "file could not be opened for reading". I checked the WORK directory, and it is properly creating a FSW_PSW.TRC file. Can I ignore this error or is something going on? Thanks!

So just a blank one? Was going to try that, thanks. I didn't realize this step expected or used a MAN file.

Edit: Worked like a charm, thanks again for this thread and all the help! Time to hax0r my ride

I followed this video to get everything re-set up on Windows 7 x64. Everything seems OK so far but my INPA menus are in German. For example if I go to E90 => Engine => MSD 80.0 for N54 every option is in German.

I previously had this setup through a XP virtual machine (which I believe was also thanks to you Rich), and these menu items are in English.

How do I get this INPA install to also have English menu items in INPA?

Quick question about the daten file that your video has us load. Is that something that needs to be updated from time to time? I see people asking around for daten files and was wondering what the deal was. Thanks!

Pretty much everything from this point on should be good. It isnt outdated and even if there are 3 more small updates it wont make any difference compared to updating from v41 to v49
