Spiike's DIY Dreamcar + Monaco Blue <3 + Custom Morr vs8.2's + Italian Cars...

Fav pic so far:

MOD Journal:

I get a lot of Monaco Blue questions via PM, so I figured it's about time to post up some pics of my car and start a mod journal. I'm not sure if my car is car of the month worthy yet, but if you like the pics please nominate! Most of my mods are installed via DIY and with the exception of paint, I've done all my own installs thanks to the forums, hence the DIY dream car. I was driving my ultimate dream car in the last pic actually today... but on to that later.

I have to thank lots of vendors to have gotten me where I am today especially the following:

Andy @ Morr = Great service and customer support. I'm on my second set of vs8.2's and now rock a custom finish. If you're hesitating on Morr's, get them!
Allen @ **********s = Most of my parts were from mod bargains and I'm glad they're around to supply them. Every time I worked with Allen it has been a pleasure to do business.
Tiago @ VRSF = Stand up guy and please put out more quality parts!
Boyce Bodywerks in Batavia, IL = They do great work on paint and has helped in many ways to get the car where it is today. Highly recommended if you're in Illinois.
BMS, ECSTuning, GTB Performance, E92lighting, and PYspeed are all notable mentions and have prodded my wallet in one way or another. Thanks everyone for the great customer support!

Exterior Mods:
M3 rep front Bumper
M3 vents
Painted corners
DIY angel eyes + DIY matte black headlights + diffuser removal
Black Gloss Grills
Shadowline Trim
35% Tint
M3 rep sideskirts
Msport Rear Bumper
335is insert and diffuser (DIY CF diffuser not pictured since it isn't completed)
JL CF CSL Trunk
335is tail lights + Coding
Curt hitch
CF roundels
CF license plate frame
Cyba 4'' tips

Wheels and Shocks
Morr VS8.2 19'' hand brushed signature black wheels. These replaced my original machined signature black vs8.2's. The hand brush gives a much softer look and not a mirrored machine look which some have mistaken from chrome. New finish....love it love it love it!!! I have a million pics of the wheels so if you want super high res let me know.

KW V2 coilovers. DD setting is 7 from stiffest in front and 9 from stiffest in rear. Car is very comfortable and softer than sport shocks but handle better. I use 3 from stiffest in front and 5 from stiffest in rear for spirited driving or when I'm at the local autobahn (autobahncc.com)

Performance Friction 08 pads for track
ATE Super Blue brake fluid

Performance
BMS dual cone intakes
BMS JB4 iso
Helix dual BOV
VRSF downpipes
VRSF FMIC
3-4 gallons of e85 always

Interior
DIY CF trim wrap
DIY iphone connector
M shift knob
Hardwired escort

The virgin 335 back in 2008. She had no idea what she was in for...

This is how the car normally looked during the weekends.

I proceeded to slowly mod the car piece by piece and found my way to Morr wheels. These are the original machined signature black wheels. They were really shiny in the sun and car looks almost black in this pic. It's hard to photograph Monaco blue at dusk because it looks black. Old vs8.2 Pics thread with 3D Pictures

I thought I was done modding after this photoshoot... boy was I wrong! More pics in this thread 2011 pics thread

DIY Angel Eyes in progress. These are Umnitza Orion V2's. I've baked headlights numerous times for several cars, so decided to do them myself and put a little twist by removing the diffuser. It creates an illusion that the car is wider as you'll see in pictures below:

Finished Product.

I had the EBAY aero lip installed at the time. Headlights were always the eye catcher since they are really bright.
My $35 ebay aero lip thread link

I decided I didn't like the machined wheel look and got a new set of custom painted Morr VS8.2's. Requested Andy to do a hand brushed signature gloss black + clear coat and man do they look great. It was a very long wait, but thanks to Andy's excellent customer service I'm a happy customer yet again. Thank you Andy!!

I had a request for a close up of the CF CSL trunk on Monaco Blue. License plate was super shiny so I grayed it out. I love this shot.

This is how the car looks today (I'll have all of my pics on my photobucket if you want super high res shots):

Chicago Graffiti:

Is this considered good stance?

Another graffiti location. Loving the concave vs8.2's and softer brushed look!!

One of my fav graffiti locations

Chicago Skyline (sunroof is open so tint looks a bit lighter. Front tint is illegal in Chicago but not in Illinois, so this is how I drive in the city.):

Ok time for some Italian content...

First cruise with some friends in 2008.

How Spiike rolls now in 2013 (sorry iphone 4s pics):
Car fits right in with its Italian friends (and except for the scuderia just as fast as everyone with e40! shhh )

Fun times...

Only way the car should be photographed... in my ultimate dream car Porsche GT3 RS!

If you have any mod suggestions or if the car needs improvement in a category please let me know! Thanks for the community support and answering all my dumb questions through the years.

Thanks! I'll have to show you some of the photoshoot locations in Chicago. The skyline shot is hard with multiple cars because they monitor the planetarium front closely. I had a cop actually drive by but instead of kicking me out he asked a dozen questions about the car and said I just better finish up before he circles around again in 30 mins. =) cool guy.

Thanks! there are some pretty cool murals in Chicago. I'd love to see an alpine white on some of the darker/black graffiti murals.

Thanks! Wow I feel privileged to have the great Yodaime post in my thread!!

Morr vs8.2's are 19x8.5 with +35mm offset in the front and 19x10 with +36mm offset in the rear. Tires are Hankook Ventus V12's with tire sizes: 235x35 in the front and 275x30 in the rear. I tried 265x35 in the rear but didn't want to poke, so slightly rolled my rear fenders and went 275 instead.

Thanks, appreciate it! It really must have been a slow month in April .

The V1's have been great. As for the wheels, well they were a bit more trouble than I originally wanted. One of them still leaks a bit of air, but I'll have that taken care of when winter rolls along.
