Local oil change - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Im looking for a place where I can get my oil changed thats not a dealer, I just finished my break-in, and Would like to change the oil. Refer me only if you have been there, and they do good work.

I don't know what to suggest other than to do it yourself. Most places, although working with BMW's cannot be trusted. I once went to the BimmerShop near the beach to get a quote for an installation of springs and got quoted nearly 1300 nos prings included and they had mechanics sitting on the trunk of other clients cars eating their lunch. Its like finding a needle in a hay stack.

Its really easy, although the first time is messy simply because you don't know what to expect or what direction the draining oil will shoot.

If you want I can help you out to do it yourself that way you can do it all the time yourself in the future. I'm in the Kendall Area.

Simple...go to your local BMW and purchase the oil filter - $15 I believe then go to your local pep boys and they'll change the oil for $20 plus the oil of course. A lot better than paying BMW $119

or we can schedule a mini meet at someones house and have all of ours done at the same time.....kinda like the ever elusive CDV removal meet.....

I got a pretty big driveway with a garage as well. I have rhine ramps I like to use instead of jack stands. Im up for a mini meet as well as Im clocking in at
9k miles and last time I changed my oil was at 2500 or so.

Thats half of my driveway along with what goes through the front of the house. plenty of space.

I bought my oil and oil filter from BMW for $51 total. Took it to Midas on Federal Highway and Mcnab and they changed it for $13.99

Cheap and its done right, and in about 15 minutes.

You'd be surprised. My boss at my first job took his Mitsubishi SUV in for an oil change at Firestone...he needed a wheel replaced so he figured he'd do his routine maintenace.

They didn't tighten the oil cap enough and eventually oil leaked all over his engine...he didn't find out until his car died at 2 am in the middle of US1.
