Who makes the OEM Calipers?

I'm assuming ATE? I know OEM brake lube is ATE Plastilube.

I'm replacing all my brake hardware, new caliper guide bolts and bushings.

The ATE stuff is half price from the OEM price.

$20 each Caliper Guide Bolt vs $10 times 4

$20 each bushing kit vs $12 times 2

Then duplicate that for the rear brakes.

Debating, think I'm just going to go with ATE, they are a OEM supplier and owned by Conti.

I used the ATE Guide Pins & Boot Kits + Pex Sensors from FCP

Exact duplicates of BMW branded oem (since they ARE the actual mfg for BMW) & way cheaper than BMW branded...

Where did you find ATE calipers? I have a torn boot on my left rear caliper, 2007 328xi, and I cannot find anything but the pins, sleeves, pads and such. No ATE calipers.

Any help?

Look into getting them rebuilt by http://www.goldlinebrakes.com, or get rebuilt ones with a refundable core charge at ECSTuning, you have to find the OEM part number for your calipers at realoem.com and enter it into ECStuning part system and it will give you the options.


Just FYI replacing the guide bushings made a huge difference.

I have a torn boot on one, not necessarily a damaged caliper. If I need to rebuild this caliper, I will do it myself. I have been rebuilding my calipers for various cars for about 25 years. Very simple with basic tools. I just only recently found a rebuild kit so I was asking for replacement calipers in case I couldn't find the kit.

Got my replacement boot kit and one hour later my caliper was removed, cleaned, new O ring and boot replaced and caliper installed. My wife helped me bleed the brakes and I am back in business.
