Under seat subs?

Hi guys
Need your expertise. I jave a e90 320d 2006. It has a standard factory sound system. However i heard there is an option to fit subs under the seat? Is this possible to do with an after market sub? I dont want to add extra amps or anything. If this is possible please let me know. Im not looking to do the big ICE thing just need bit more deep base. Please share what you have done or what could work.

Thanks

Gsha

read sticky stuff bud.

you are not going to get anything out of just swapping the underseats, as HU powers them. And HU hasn't got enough juice.

Are they actually working?

I've just picked up a 2010 e92 330d with the professional nav / iDrive. Coming from a 2006 320d (professional CD) I expected the audio quality to be as good / better but it's really poor.

I'm looking at the alpine upgrade but I'm not actually sure that the subs are working as I can't feel anything from them (I could feel the bass through the seat in my old 320) - is there a way to test them, or is this normal and they're just ridiculously quiet without the amp?

The headunit doesn't matter if you have the older BMW Business or the new BMW professional or iDrive. It all depends on what speaker you got from the factory whether it be just the base, hifi, or logic7.

Both cars had the base / standard speaker system (no tweeters / centre speaker etc.) but it's as if the subs in the new car aren't working at all - there's no bass whatsoever, whereas in my old 320d I could feel the subs through the seat.

I'm just wondering if the old car had better speakers / a more powerful head unit, or whether I need to take it back to BMW (under warranty) and get them to investigate it as a fault

They are small subs (more mid bass). It seems the later head units are just not powerful enough to get any kind of volume from them
