man some of you are being pricks about this. the front plate is a money grab. it gives cops something big and shiny target in the front of the car to target with a laser. That being said, I'd run the front plate over the euro plate if you NEED to have it.

And some of you 'upstanding citizens' here chastising the guy for whining need to appreciate that he is just ranting. God in heaven forbid someone bitches about a petty and stupid law being enforced for no good reason.

All I'm saying is that I wasn't harming others, aka speeding, reckless driving, seatbelt was on, driving in center lane with cruise control set at 65 for the 65mph zone. A lil over the top that's all...

ROFL, on what grounds are you going to file this complaint?

1. Your state law requires a front plate
2. Having a Europlate in place of your REAL USA plate is worse than not having any front plates at all
3. What does having a hole in your bumper have to do with anything? That's your problem not the cop's
4. I assume it's illegal to tint your car in your state? Or your tint is darker than what is legal? So...

Then I guess modding should be illegal too. Exhausts for emissions and noise, tints for darkness, aftermarket lighting etc..

So many of you are stuck on the fourth stage, it's pretty sad to see this.

'how dare you do something, it's AGAINST THE LAW'.
It's a lame chickenshit law. The cop might be just doing his job but why are we collectively forcing our police to be hall monitors over nonsense like this? I sympathize, this is a bullshit position to be in. I would encourage OP to reconsider filing a complaint on the officer and use his frustration in a more productive manner, such as writing to local officials.

I've also heard of fix it tickets which say you need to fix a certain thing in a certain amount of days or else the fine will be enforced. That's a reasonable solution which I wouldn't rant at all about. This way the officer gets what he wants and the driver has a chance to correct the issue... Too much to ask, I guess.

I could do that, but against the law it will make it worse in the future. It's not a huge deal. I'm sure it won't be my last ticket, (it will be the last for a plate tho, lesson learned) and I don't want to offend them in any manner.

Honestly the most expedient way to resolve this is to throw the front plate on and keep your windows rolled down when getting the fixit ticket handled. Write your local lawmakers, and then decide whether to keep the plate on or rock your euro plate. I've had cops straight up tell me 'I get it looks sharp but honestly were gonna keep hassling you until it gets fixed, your move'.
Personally, whenever I get rolled for tint or whatever, I don't blame the cop. They have a bunk job to do, but the laws and the police unions that sit behind these nonsense laws have my well earned hatred. Fix the laws, and the cops go away. That's why most of OC got rid of red light cameras. it's not impossible.

So let me get this straight. The officer gave you a warning about your illegal tint instead of giving you a ticket. This gives you an opportunity to fix it before getting an actual ticket. You proceed not to do anything about the tint, but instead blame the officer for profiling you when he tickets you in the future for said tint.

I think thats all on you, bro.

What I hate the most is the inconsistency, cops come to where I work everyday and see the car, not a single mention besides a chuckle about what it reads. Then there are others.
