Just idiots. The jealousy just comes across so clearly to me anyway. There's clearly some good chaps on there too though so I'd just try and ignore it.

At least Petay had the decency to put the fact that he fancied your mum in a polite way

I don't think it is down to jealousy. He's just more of a target for a good hard slagging due to his manner (soft target, naive blurted comments), and continually posting another standard brand that your dad owns in that forum hardly helps. It is just common sense - do you have no self preservation ?

Lot of fast mouthed rough and tumble, but I have seen worse.

You just need to learn how to take AND GIVE the flak, Carlos. And stop leaving yourself open to it in the first place.

You'd get eaten alive up my way.

You'll soon toughen up. Baptisim by fire. Start using your head. [taps side of head]

And I didn't mention a manual once.

Dave_3> it seemed like a bit of jealousy to me. I didn't see any continuous posting, maybe a couple of photo threads. It is a car forum. If you posted some pics of your Ford here I wouldn't get excited about it. If you posted them twice I wouldn't either. Carlos doesn't get that kind of nasty attitude on here (mostly) to be honest I think it reflects badly on the posters and the forum. It's the same Carlos - here we have a bit of fun with it.

I don't think it is jealousy. It is just exasperated indifference.

If you do a search for all the posts Carl has made there (and the other boards) - you'll find quite a few of his dad's BMW.

And then to post in the main section (not even the gallery section) about 20 snaps of your dad's BMW down some lanes. And it is primarily a Forum for "another brand" with loyal/fan-boy followers.

The manners are more base, and the banter sharper and to the bone than here - done to get a response. He should be aware of that, and be able to fend off the crits if he goes ahead and posts his dad's car. Those guys taste the blood in the water - first sign of weakness (it has nothing to do with the 335D per se). It appears Carlo might be used to little twee bar bistros, but not drinking men's pubs.

It is just shere common sense.

Ultimately they are just words. If he doesn't like it, he can leave that forum. Or maul them back with sharp, witty retorts to stop the bullies.

The fact that you have no comprehension as to why you are riling some of them is half the problem, Carl.

Realistically, how can others who have bought themselves BMW, Mercs, "other Brands" etc. be jealous ?

It isn't about that.

Dave, there's just no need for it. It may be the way they are, or the way Carlos is or whatever but that doesn't make it right. If I posted a picture of a golf on there I bet I wouldn't get that reaction.

I have no doubt for some it's jealousy, for others they're idiots. There's really no need to comment if they have nothing productive to say. I know why they do, Carlos maybe doesn't see it, but it doesn't mean we have to like it. It's life I suppose. Only words.

I have as little time and the same contempt for people who get riled by Carlos as they do for him..... Life's too short.

I agree. I'm not condoning this attacking of the weakest, easiest target in the slightest, but I have seen worse - it is just like vindictive playground nastiness. It is the effect. It is not so much jealousy in their case, more their lack of respect (which can't be bought by dad).

But at least having an inkling of why it happens (the cause) might help him - and help him cover his arse at work too. He does come out with some absolute unthinking howlers, and even then has yet to receive a similar response here. Lots of us have bad bite marks on our tongues.

The fact that he feels hounded from pillar to post through the Forums suggests he hasn't learned to occasionally keep his head down.

All down to life experience.

Well I was fascinated...so I found it, registered and read it.

TBH I've seen a hell of a lot worse on many forums. I think it's easy to forget how civilized this UK branch is. , Many forums are populated by semi-literate, egotistical, knob brains, with too much time on their hands.

There are certainly some fairly base, unwarranted comments by some posters, but I can also see where others are coming from. If I was to constantly visit and post pics myE92 on the RX8 owner's club forum I'd be rightly... and at! The fact that it's a diesel in a petrolhead's world and bought by dad just feeds the flames unfortunately.

However, there's a good mix of positive comments as well.

Dave_3 offers sound advice IMHO. Chill.

rockit, the comment that i am always posting pics of a standard bm is unfounded, the guy is talking crap, maybe once every 2-3 months i have... thats not exactly OVERPOWERING them is it??

many members have moved on to other pieces of metal and post pics....

i was far from being, ''in ya face'' and didnt derserve the negative comments in my opinion

At the risk of being seen as Anti-Carlos* what I see here (on e90post) is some people agreeing with you, and some disagreeing.

What strikes me is that the people that disagree are always wrong as far as you're concerned.

Why not listen to other people's views and take them on board? You've invited comment but you instantly dismiss any opinion that differs from your own.

I haven't looked at this other forum, but from what's been said, I would say yes - posting pictures of your BMW on an RX8 forum every 2-3 months is overpowering (well, maybe too strong a word, certainly over the top).

Personally, I think that posting pics of your car every 2-3 months even on a BMW forum would be borderline show-off, especially when there's nothing new to look at.

I said before that they were probably jealous, and others have agreed, so why "rub their noses in it"? That's bound to get you a negative response, other people on other forums would accuse you of trolling.

*I don't know why I'm bothering, because I'm sure that rather than reading this and thinking about it, you'll just see it as me having "yet another go" at you and I'll get "coming from you" comments again. Please don't dismiss it, listen, think and maybe you'll consider what might happen next time your in a similar situation.

Thanks

Philthecarlosfanboi
