done and dusted seatbelt extender.

two days ago my drivers side seatbelt extender stopped catching the belt... tried the ironing tick today... after that fail, I had a good look at it... spring hook has broken. Need to replace the whole extender.

So for anyone else in this boat or down the track I found ECS sell them. Going to buy one on Monday and have Active install it for me...

cheapish and such a big deal as I 1st thought it might be.

Nice find and bloody cheap.

BMW has had nothing but problems with these since release. Took a 650i M-Sport for a test drive a couple of months ago. First thing I noticed... no seat belt extender. Not used to reaching back way past my shoulder for the seat belt. I was surprised to see them in pics of the new 4er.

Anyone with an E92 that is getting older will need one of these sooner or later.

Thanks for posting.

half the time the seat belt doesn't catch in my car, so when you reach on the extender it isnt there... Is there some sort of knack to it?

as metioned try to iron the belt first... if that fails check the extender spring.. should line up like the passenger side.

My passenger seat belt seems to play up from time to time... it always brings the belt forward but never returns its way itself all the way back in... any way to fix this other than replacing the entire mechanism?

Just a trick for the extender missed catching the belt...
I read this somewhere long time ago that you can use your gf/wife/girl.friend's hair straightener to sort of straighten the belts. Heard it solve the prob. Personally I don't have the problem so yeah...this is not confirmed but worth trying anyway lol

Just did this today at active motorwerkes. So glad the seat belt is extending 100% off the time now.

Thanks bmj for posting this.
