So you have a dpf issue... Would you consider removing it all together?

does sound good, I did see the smoke as he booted it though. Not forgetting that P 5UML's car is a 325d with a remap and mine is a 335d with a remap. I think my car would eject even more smoke when booted. the vids I've seen back this up.

I don't want to diss this option, its personal preference. Think the snob in me needs a kickin!!

definitely does! Releaseing some easy power from DPF removal is aweosme!

And everytime you accelerate hard, you will be pulling off a magic trick...

Now you see me PSHHHHHHHH Now you dont ;0

You mite not find that actually. Due to the twin turbos on the 335d it has a linear boost which should result in less soot in one puff. Insteadnit will be mildly sooty for alightly longer which you wont notice.

My 535d had a full decat dpf delete and exhaust. Sounded like a V8 somehow and didnt smoke at all really.

hahaha thanks for the comments BM and Gaza,

RS - its definitely personal preference, i was in your position and getting the DPF replaced was just out of the question when i found out the price!

but the sound and performance makes up for it for me...of course id prefer it to not smoke...but i cant have everything lol! one of the downpoints of having a diesel over the petrol

but if you do have it removed...how much are you going to be looking out for it when you boot it?

thats the question lol

I want max power and no smoke though, I want everything and don't want to pay for it either. Think I'm going to try the aftermarket DPF route and see how that goes.
