No doubt
That's why I thought it was ridiculous when the US was all anti-France the last time.
Because if it wasn't for France, there would be no US of A

I love how Kerry, Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Hagel, etc. all undermined Bush in 2006-07 when he was trying to put pressure on Assad. What a bunch of political clowns.

All politicians are a bunch of political clowns. 2000-2008 the GOP didn't give a shit about our spending. As soon as a Democrat is elected, they care all of a sudden.

Anyway....

Either Obama's attempt not to get involved either backfired or House Reps and the White House finally agree on something....

2000-2008? Really. Don't get me started on the dope smoking, draft dodging, womanizer Billybob and his spending. His Democrats laid the ground work for the mess that we are going through now.

Then we have Reagan and his spending.... The 600 ship Navy, etc.

So yeah as I said, all politicians are a bunch of political clowns. What Clinton did doesn't disprove my point of the GOP not giving a shit about our spending problems until Obama got elected.....

I'm not going to defend how Clinton help setup the housing collapse. We haven't had a decently run government in a long time. It doesn't matter if the Republicans were in control or the Democrats. They all have been shit.

Assad was also gaining the upper hand in the conflict prior to this, so also seems suspicious that he did it.

Obama drawing a "red line" was stupid - he set the stage for the US to be manipulated.
My thoughts exactly...

US foreign policy is an absolute disgrace and embarrassment and so are our politicians. We have been involved in that part of the world for decades and have achieved nothing but death and destruction there and stateside. The only thing we are good at is making more enemies. This whole Syria thing should prove to the rest of the sheeple in this country that there is absolutely ZERO difference between the two parties. Scumbags!

I see the conflict in syria as an extension of what is happening everywhere, just far more brutal & extreme.

USA's interests rarely intersect those in need.

So the Senate's proposed deal pretty much limits the US involvement to air strikes and cruise missiles.

As the 60 days authorization is already a power of the president thanks to the War Powers Act( 60 days deployment limit with 30 days for withdraw if no authorization from congress).

What a farce.....

Also, +1000 on the comment earlier about how this should prove there is no difference between the parties. Both of them are hypocrites and war mongerers.

This mess in Syria was a no-win situation from the beginning. Obama didn't start the war or choose the participants, but he got involved in Egypt and then Libya, so now he feels obligated to do something in Syria. But when Iraq used gas on Iranians back during their war, we did nothing. When Iraq used gas on its own people, we did almost nothing other than some sanctions. I don't see why we need to be involved now, at least as far as Syrians gassing Syrians is concerned. The real problem here is not that Syria is using gas on its people, but that Syria has shown a willingness to use gas and may decide to use it against Israel. That would set off a war like you wouldn't believe and we'd have little chance of staying out of it. The world may finally have proof that Israel has nukes.

Couldn't agree more. It's politically easier to do nothing, necessitate someone else's involvement and blaming them for meddling.

I think McCain is a little out of touch with 99% of America. No way US troops should be sent into Syria. That needs to be set in stone.

EDIT: Gotta love the media in the US. One says McCain opposes the current resolution because it forbids US troops on the ground and the other says McCain opposes US troops on the ground. Hopefully the latter is correct.

Or how about Carter's "Race Track"? Or Johnson/Kenedys Vietnam? We could go on at one another. The fact is all of them are or have been "a bunch of political clowns" both Dems and GOP.
