What's your favorite part of driving Manual Transmission?

I love the fact that the time it takes me to clutch-upshift-release, is exactly enough time for the RPM's to drop and match my next gear. It's an art. Frustrating, rewarding yet strongly habit forming.

Being able to put it in any gear you want, at any time you want, and be ready to act. Can't do that with a auto w/out going thru all gears in between.

Contoling the torque

When your in a nice banked corner you can apply throttle the car wild actually
hunker down an the tire grip will increase and you feel the pull of both the
forward and lateral G's and then you come zooming out.
Shifting when you want to and not when the car wants to .
No auto slowly searching for gears on a hill.
Smoother transitions between gears than most autos can do.

Best part is rowing through the gears. And the level of control. I almost got suckered into an AT rather than waiting 10 weeks for my custom order and SO GLAD I DIDN'T!

The feeling of doing something while I'm driving that directly relates to my experience.

When I go about 10mph, let off the gas, but keep it in first gear and listen to the exotic sound of my RPI exhaust as it gurgles and rumbles all kinds of sexy nastyness

For some reason, autos don't seem to have the pronounced sound when doing the same thing.

Executing a perfectly rev matched double clutched downshift while threshold braking and realizing that the majority of race car driver wannabees who post here about "Chicktronics", "Autotragics" "Boring Automatics" and how much control they have with their MTs could not do that of their life depended on it.

I don't have to put it through reverse and drive to move forward.
*Start up -> 1st gear -> GO!

Now, now.

At least for myself, the fact is that I don't have "Oh, shit!" moments when I drive either of my cars (both have MT) and that does happen from time to time when driving rentals with automatic. So, the best part of an MT is that it keeps me focused on driving so much better than "Boring Automatics" - that and loud rev-matched downshifts on empty twisty roads, o'course.
