Offset Question

Hi All, what is the recommended offset to bring aftermarket wheels closer to the fender? I have a e90 330i with sport package.

I was considering these sizes, Front 19x8.5 30mm and Rear 19x9.5 45mm.

I vowed I would not mod the car...I held out for 4 months...

Danny

to extend the wheels closer to fender for the rear you need a lower offset than 45. use the calculation on the top of this page. a 45mm offset will move it 5mm closer to the fender side. you can always add spacers

I'm looking at 19 x 9.5 BBS CH's with 20mm offset - is that too much the other way? The calculator says 4mm more clearance on the strut but I'm not sure that that applies with PSS9 coilovers.

Anyone any idea?

No, the higher offset will move the wheel closer to the strut side.

25mm seems to be the max for no rubbing issues. Although, someone is running 20mm on non-sport suspension and claims no rubbing.

I'm running 30mm and it's pretty close to flush.

Also, all of the e90 ACS wheels are in the mid to high 20mm range.

e90 share the same offset as the e46 m3. find out the offset for that m3 and you should be ok.

Hey thanks Long! I'm now going for 19x10.5, +25 for the rears. Do you know if I can still run 265/19/30's or do I have to go to 275/19/30's?

Careful ! *SOME* M3 wheels (the average ones) will fit the E90, not the agressive M3 offset wheels.. I don't think a 10.5 + 25 wheel would fit the E90, but if it does work let us know. (and if you do try to put this wheel one, you will need some thinner tires, 265 instead of 275)

Thanks Mark! I spoke to Mackin, and they tell me they use the 10.5 +25 setup for the e90. I dunno, the retailer that I have purchased my previous volks told me to go with the 9.5 +45 setup.

9.5 +45 will definatly work, no question about that.. but it wont be as agressive as you can have. Who is Mackin ? If they can guarante that 10.5+25 will fit then thats fine, but I dont think it will, but might be worth a try just to see.. just make sure they guarantee that it will fit and if it doesnt they will get another wheel with proper offset for free.

If they have 19x9.5, +25 for the rear, I think that will work according to the calculator.
