detailing startup

Has anyone had experience starting up a detailing company? Nothing big, myself on the weekends. I have a PC, Klasse, zaino, polishes, waxes and all the standard by-hand cleaning equipment for external detaling.

I have thought about this for a while, and had alot of people ask me how my car looks so good all the time. But they always seem to balk at the time and price I have always heard... around 120-150.

Any tips would help, i have been researching this for a bit now and have ideas but I figured I would ask the pros!

you should really check out a dedicated detailing forum. ---> www.detailingbliss.com

a ton of information there.

depending on the services you provide and your skill set you can do washes for $25 plus.

or go command more if you have the skill set - $65-85+ an hour for paint correction.

wow guys thank you both for good links to information! Perfect!

My only hesitation is I live in the bland midwest Ohio and nicer cars are pretty rare. Higher end detail work seems like a pretty exclusive niche market around here but there have to be people out there!
