Free remap for jb4 users!!!

There is now an option to use the Bavarian technic cable to deliver free and open source remaps on to the car.

Terry has open sourced his back end flash map for all jb4 users. I've loaded this and would recommend that all other jb4 users do the same. It puts jb4 way ahead of the competition with better and more reliable/consistent power, It's absolutely brilliant.

********************************************

Original post:

Just loaded the bms back end flash using the *********** software and BT cable.

Took 65 mins to read the standard file and 15 mins to write the remap.

I went for the race map provided by terry as I'm running meth. Not had a chance to drive the car yet but started fine with no codes.

Just a teaser really - more detail to follow! jb4 users should jump on this if they have the chance!

Basically a completely free remap.

All the benefits of timing and fuelling control from a flash. With all the dash control, logging and meth integration of the JB4 = best of both worlds..

Pretty excited to drive the car tomorrow.

You will have to let me know your thoughts once you have driven the beast.

Only managed to drive very slow so far - wedding fair duties with the bridesmaids..

No codes thrown and seems really smooth and quiet! I'll put my foot down on the way to work tomorrow and see how it goes.

The car moves along very well indeed.

More torque low down and more power high up. Zero lag and much improved throttle response. Smooth as butter. Get yourself a Bavarian Technic cable and give it a go!

Looking forward to getting onto the dyno now!

Which cable did you use? I know some of them can be a bit "flakey"

It's the proper Bavarian technic cable.

I borrowed one - you don't need the BT software and hence it doesn't use one of the VINs.

Talking to idnan about his BMS meth kit [ he still has it ] and going to look for DPs. May even sell the Borla and go back to standard exhaust with DPs.

Just need to look for one of the solenoid fittings which I put away but should be able to find it.

You're more than welcome to borrow the BT cable if you need it Mark

Hey idnan , which fitting is it? I could always look for one on ebay or something.
Have you done the backend flash as well ?

It is the compression fitting that allows the 6mm pipe into the solenoid. I know I've got it as the solenoid is brand new.

I did the backend flash with the Cobb before the BB flash was out but my car didn't suit the G5 iso so I switched sides.

Hi Guys,

Novice JB4 user here, also running ETC, DP's and DCI.

I've just ordered the upgrade from G4 to G5 ISO. So what this thread about then ? Are you talking about the Open Flash Tablet ?

I'm confused - sorry :-(

Yeah not sure why, I thought this was a forum for discussion? Apparently a commonly known state of Germany's technic cable cannot be discussed either :S
