Weird... I was looking at that page myself about 5 minutes ago.

Really impressive car. It'll be interesting to see what people think of it compared with the 435d xDrive and Alpina B3.

No cost option on everything painted in a BMW factory.

I think I'd have a standard 335d M Sport. Put some nicer wheels on it and maybe a remap.

Send a message via MSN to MEGA
Remapped new 335d will get exactly the same performance numbers for a much lower cost

Even my (older engine compared to the F10 I think?) car with a subtle remap achieves a ~4.8s 0-60, 1.9s 60ft, 105mph quarter at 13.2

But they "seem" to have achieved far superior MPG in particular, and I wonder how. Is this just not real world figures? Or have they done some real magic here ... Humm ...

How well specced does the Alpina come?

Isn't the list prices not that far apart? Alpinas hold their value better, so it'll offset the purchase price a bit.

Comparing a modified car to a standard one isn't fair. We might end up finding in time that the Alpina is a monster with a remap.

Fuel consumption figures are nearly always a joke. They are only tested over a very short simulated run that isn't a fair representation of the real world. It's not the manufacturers that do it though.

So this is 0.2 secs quicker than the F30 335d XDrive and >1 mpg more efficient. Big deal..

The fact that you get all the engine/gearbox/suspension mapping, body kit, wheels and exhaust for 4k more than the equivalent 335d makes it very good value indeed..

surely the MPG never comes into it??
your buying one of these because its Alpina, because of the difference from a standard car, and despite it being diesel it goes pretty damn fast.

If the MPGs and tax didn't come into to it, you wouldn't buy the diesel one. You'd buy the petrol one
