I don't understand completely. Did you open it up and remove packing?

I believe the piping within the muffler is perforated, the exhaust mod replaces that with solid piping. But there are several methods.

Funny vid, stock sound is great, but the OEM mod sure sounds fantastic.

Are similar results found by installing solid pipes into 335i back boxes?

I would've welded bigger tips! They been doing that since forever gutting out the muffler but sounds so mean.

The garage makes the stock muffler sound 100x better than it actually does on the street, I could barely hear it at all. With the gutted muffler its much throatier at all RPMs but, like everyone has mentioned in the past, it sounds stock at idle. Resonated X-Pipe is going on this weekend and should blow panties off.

BTW im going to get a ton of shit for this but, I did not replace the perforated pipes. I chose to be cheap and lazy and wrapped the pipes with exhaust tape from autozone($5) and then wrapped that with gorilla tape. The muffler shouldnt get too hot so I am not all that worried. Maybe it will start to come apart in a year but who knows.

Who cares if you wrapped the pipes! As long as it works. Did you cover all four pipes or just two?

All 4, the wrap should hold up for a while but I have a feeling when I put the catless x-pipe on there the muffler is going to run significantly hotter and the wrapping will fail. Not to worried about it though, I figured Id give it a shot and see how it holds up overtime.
