Purchased the nav upgrade from Baccus and Performed the upgrade to my 2010 335XI yesterday evening. Had some trouble with my computer putting the upgrade on a stick, but once accomplished, the upgrade went quick and smooth. Thanks for your help Baccus!

Guys that have MY (model year) 2009 have been private messaging me to know if they are eligible for this usb stick upgrade. It is really easy to tell if your navigation system firmware has been updated to allow for the update using the USB stick!

*****2010 till present 2013 have no issues at all with using the USB stick as your firmware on CIC headunit is up to date!!******

Take a look at these two pictures...Notice the round circle on the bottom left hand corner. If your unit has the little check mark on the round black circle(pic #1) then its good to go with the usb stick in glovebox update for 2014 maps. If your unit doesnt have the check mark and is a black circle only, (pic #2) then the only way to update is using the 3 DVD disk method. The usb stick update takes about 45 minutes as suppose to the 3 DVD disk which takes about 3 hours. Both will require the FSC activation code that I can get for you.

And what means this "round black circle with check mark" ??? Is this CiC NBT or just software update of CiC ? Is this possible than to update software of CiC at BWM service if you don't have "round black circle with check mark" and then update trough USB ????

Look at the pictures...at the far bottom corner there is a round circle..first pic has the check mark on it and the other ones is just black...Yes you can bring it to dealer and have them upgrade our firmware but more then likely they wont do it for free and it will cost you about 300+ to do it...This is for CIC head unit..NBT is the newer unit...CIC unit is the second unit on the third pic..

This update is for navigation map update...It has nothing to do with firmware update of the CIC unit...The check mark is for people with model year 2009 that wants to know if they can update their navigation maps to 2014...Those that have the check can do it and for those that dont have the check they have to either goto dealer to get the firmware update or use the 3 DVD disk method which takes alot longer to upload the data to the hard drive of the cic unit..

Ok, is there any other improvements if you don't have this "check mark inside of circle" and you do firmware update at BMW, or just that you can update navigation maps via USB.

The new firmware is alot faster in terms of smoothness compared to older firmware...But this map update doesnt change the firmware as it only updates the data of the navigation map

I did the update through Baccus for my 2011 335is with 2010 maps. I was very impressed with his service and responsiveness. It seemed like whenever I had a question I had a response within 2-3 minutes. Again very impressed and I hope do do business again. Please let me know what other services you provide.

Thanks,
Mark

THX I appreciate it. I still have few questions. I follow your instruction on the forum to download the three 8GB version, not the whole 32 version because my map has never been upgraded. is that ok? and also ask a question for my friend, his car is 2008 E60 528xi, with CCC navigation. I download the 2 DISC 2014 professional for him, and when I inject the old one and insert the new one the system suggest me to shut down the system and wait for 5 min and restart the system. After that, we are not sure the map version has been upgraded, can you tell me how I can check the current version for CCC? THX and the new disc has to be stored inside?

I have the same problem with the 2014-1 CIC maps. I experienced it in Hungary. In many smaller towns the streets are missing, although in the 2013-2 version everything was well detailed. Did you get answer from BMW in the meantime? I hope this is just a bug in the new map editon and not an intended change...
