Almost time for Winter Wheels sighhhh

It's almost that sad time of the year when the summer set gets swapped for the winter set. I usually try to wait as long as possible to switch. When are the rest of you guys planning to change out?

This is my first year on Toyo Proxes 4 Plus all-seasons after 4 winters on Blizzaks. To prepare, I reduced my commute from 1 mile to 0. I'd typically swap a few days before the first snow.

Lol I keep the summers on as long as is possible. Theyíll come off before the monthís end I guess, I spun 3rd last night on an entrance ramp, which is not super fun and should not be happening at my carís power levels. So itís about time to go to the winters.

As an aside though I just donít drive the 1er all that much in the cold stuff. Short wheelbase, lots of torque on tip in, just not what you want in the snow. The other BMW (bone stock) gets to enjoy the salt and all that nonsense.

I will be swapping out soon. Wife's car this coming weekend, mine probably around Thanksgiving. We are hitting 30's at night consistently now.

I'll swap the winters on the day it snows, and swap them back off as soon as the snow has melted.

I waited until after Thanksgiving last year (when they called for the first snow). Probably do about the same this year.

Not a bad idea - I usually try to do it by Dec 1 but may wait until it snows this year, since we got absolutely none last winter.

Currently on 16" all seasons. Not the best for winter but if anything the weather will be a dud like last year. I just can't wait until spring so I can buy some new wheels!

Mine goes on this weekend. A little earlier than usual, but I want to be prepared for a CCA event the following week.

I'm also getting my 359s refinished as soon as I swap, so hopefully these winter months go by quickly.

Start saving money for a second car. It's definitely a better way to go if you can handle the extra car insurance. Too much can go wrong with dumb drivers during ice and snow conditions. I've done it since '98 and would not go back to Winter Tires/Wheels.

I just got my Apex ARC-8's that will be wearing Michelin Xice3 tires, but I'm not swapping them over until the first snow!

They've been outstanding wheels for me on the 1er, enjoy.

Looks like flurries, frozen rain and high chances of snow for DC and Baltimore beginning early next week. Time for winter tires gents. Looking forward to how the Pirelli Sotto Zero Serie II fares in MD winter/snow conditions. Be safe ya'll.

Blah! I've had mine on for a few days and I can't wait for spring to swap them back out already. It feels like my car is floating especially at highway speeds.
