Help please track time

Hello first time posting here and I need some help I have a 2012 335i n55 with jb4 stage2 with e85 wires, injen intake, 5 inch catless downpipe and I created the jb4 into an iso too. So I recently went to the track first time i mixed e85 with 93 2 of 85 and 93 4 gallonsso 6 in total and in map 7 with dsc inactive first race with 1 gear and shift at 6.200 rpm shift and I get 13.4 on the 1/4 2nd race I started on 2nd gear and i got the same so I am not sure whats wrong I think its a traction problem because I peel out a bit I have 19 rims with run flats any suggestions or help to improve?

Thanks

what was your trap speed?

it does seem slow but your speed will give us an idea about the power you're making. did you log the car before going to the track? you know to make sure all is running well.

If your putting down 18-19psi it is definitely your launch. Run flats are not the best in traction. Shoot for a 60' time of 1.8-1.9. You will run low 12's

Get better tires and launch from second. 1st is useless if you're tuned. Last time I went to the dragstrip I was doing 13.4 @ 104 mph stock with the exception of tires. You should be in the 12's.

So then I should replace my tires? Because I do have a traction problem.

Anyone reccomend some cheap tires, because I would only need 2 from the rear right? or something that could work?

Thanks for helping me out guys.

sadly, cheap tires won't give you traction. you'll need to spend some money on good tires.

Need to know trap speed before we can really know what's going on.

Agreed.

even if you spin like hell, with your mods, launching in second should net you better time. Plus if you were spinning like crazy in second you'd know.

i got excited when you said track that you meant an actual road course track... not sure why people interested in drag strips would look at bmw's. i guess it's just a matter of curiosity of straight line performance

well its not exactly like the 335i is an out of the box Road course car. With horrible cooling, its best to stay off the track for most.

1/4 mile put less stress and you're only flooring it for less then 15 seconds. With cool down times, 1/4 mile runs arent that bad.

Use more e85. A little wheel spin is okay, but not to much. post up slip. Pretty slow time, should be in the 12's at most.

I wish more people with bmw's would look at drag strips. Lots of fun, cheaper on tires and brakes, gives real world data on how much performance these mods actually help. Way to many upgraded turbos/ST out there not running at the strip.

Road course translates better to everyday driving where most people spend more time. 3 series is built for handling, although their straight line stability is great.

Eh, most of my driving is on a freeway, so straight line performance translates better to that.

Your trap speed is low for the tune and mods/fuel.

You need to log your car and send Terry@bms the logs.

OF course spinning like crazy through gears would slow the trap considerably, but I really doubt you spun that hard in second and I doubt you'd ask for help if you were spinning second that hard.
