JB4 G5- is there a winter tune?

I'm currently running a 40% E85 mix with the rest 93 pump.

This is on Map 5.

I was wondering is there something I need to download, like a winter tune map?

Or do I just use the steering wheel controls, set it to Map 1/0 and just go back to filling up 100% 93 pump gas?

Thank You everyone!

There is no winter tune, just choose a map with lesser power if that is what you're after. Even map1 is plenty when it's all wet.

ok, I was just checking as I was confused, my buddy said I'd need to come over and he'd put a "winter tune" on my car, so I just wanted to double check on what I needed to do.

I'll switch over to Map 1 and fill up on 93.

Thanks again!

I built a linear race map (map 6) that I use for the track and expect I will use it in the winter too because of how the low-RPM behavior is so much more forgiving of throttle changes. The trick is to start at the max stock PSI at 1500 RPM and go up to whatever max psi you are comfortable with at 5000 rpm, then taper back down after that.

Just another approach.

hey guys, quick update.

So I woke up this morning on my way to work, I turned on the car and noticed the SES light came on! So while driving I started thinking, I remembered that my friend did the BMS back end flash which modifies my fuel tables, so now I think the car is running TO RICH with only 93 pump gas in it?

Also I did a few pulls in Map 1 just to see how the car was running with SES light on and it pulled fine, but as I got off the exit and came to the red light off the on ramp, my limp mod (half check engine) came on... :\.

Any ideas?

im running the procede stage one, map one. I set it up to run on 5gal of e85 per fill up. the winter blend is in the gas station tanks now, so i just add another 1.5 gal to the mix and everything fell right back in line with my tune.

running a little more e85 on each fill up is okay since the ethanol content is lower through the winter months. unless your wanting to go back to strictly 93 through the winter.

if you're running a backend flash for high E85 content, then may be it 's a good idea to flash back to stock.

yeah, the car freaked out. On my way to bank just now, car went into limp mode again...so I checked and I had 3/4 tank left, I stopped and filled up 1/4 E85, switched to Map 5 and go onto the highway, WOW the car felt AMAZING and held 18.5psi constantly lol, I loved it and LIMP mode didn't come back on either.

I wanted to run strict 93 for winter on low boost to save money on gas and net better MPG, BUT honestly, I'm just going to probably run E85 and say screw it.

Why not just reflash to a non-E85 map?

that's the thing, my friend probably meant he was going to do that, I completely forgot about the back end flash...

So looks like I'll have to pay him a visit and get things flashed back to stock trim.

reflashing is a breeze, if you don;t need the power than do it. will save you time mixing in and some money.
