Take out DRL and just run Halos?

So my headlights went out (xenons) and I need to replace them. I have been using my DRL's at night for the last few days. I am going to get some new bulbs tomorrow, but my question is- If I take out the bulb for the DRLS (so the halo just is on during day) and replace the night bulbs- will this harm anything? This might be really stupid question but I'm unaware. Thank you - 2010 328i M-sport for reference.

If you have OEM xenons, then the DRL and angel eyes are the same thing.

I dont have OEM xenons, my DRLS are halogen. The angel eyes are only on when the night headlights are on. Ive noticed the next right switch turns on the DRLS plus the amber lights, and it turns on the angel eyes surrounding the nighttime lights. I'm wondering if I just put bulbs in my night lights, and take out the DRLs, will I be able to just run halos?

Not totally sure what you're asking but I always thought that 2009+ E9x's had the angel eyes as the stock DRL. My pre lci had the inner halogen lights as DRL until I got it coded to the angel eyes as my DRL. Maybe you're saying that your inner halogens AND angel eyes are on for your DRL? If this is the case then I don't see why taking the bulb out would harm anything. But you will always have the warning light in the BC.

You can disable DRL in the BC settings or iDrive.

Yes, correct. The inner halogen lights are my DRL's. I have three options for which lights I want on. The automatic option, the 2nd option is DRL's plus ambers and angels, the third option is the outer halogen. What I'm asking is- if I get the bulb taken out of my inner light (the DRL), will it harm anything by just running the halo with that option? IE- not getting it coded, but simply taking out the DRL. Thanks again-

gotcha, thanks man. I know the bulb I need to replace the halogen is an H7 bulb...what would you recommend the best aftermarket bulb? I want something hyper white/very small blue tint. Thanks again for your help.

Google hyper white halogen H7 and you'll find a bunch of options.
