The car is 40kg (88lb) lighter according to BMW AG, and 199lb lighter according to BMW USA.
Who's the authority? I would tend to say BMW USA, since these are US spec cars we are talking about. BMW AG claims the 335i is 1600kg (3520lbs) while BMW USA claims it is 3571lbs (for a difference of only +51lbs). BMW AG claims the 135i is 1560kg (3432lbs) while BMW USA claims it is 3372lbs (for a differentce of -60lbs). It is very strange indeed that BMW USA has the higher weight for the 335i, but the lower one for the 135i. An explanation of different weight measuring procedures will obviously not suffice here. The variations could, at least in theory, be due to a difference in standard equipment between the vehicles. But even that seems somewhat unlikely. I suppose we won't know the true answer until someone takes the two cars, comparable equipped, to a scale and weighs them.

Exactly what I said 4 posts ago. ![]() I am still keeping my hopes up that its closer to 200lbs lighter. Can't we hope people? Is that such a bad thing. JEZZ. Would'nt you all want it to be lighter?? Seriously. It would be a good thing right? |

Well Im tradeing in my 335i sedan for a 135i. Im betting on the fact that my 135i is going to be lighter, faster, and handle better then my 335i. also it should be less then my used 335i since im doing euro delivery. I personally like the look of the 135i. I remember how much shit was being talked about the 335i when it first came out, the e46 guys were just like,"damn thats so ugly." Same shit here now. I think its a personal thing.
This is another thing that Im thinking... I have a paid off 335i that i enjoyed driving with Procede for one year, I can drive it up to april trade it in, probably still have enough money to get a 135i fully loaded and only have to pay for my euro trip. So i get a new car, new warrenty, keep the same engine with procede and not have to drop any cash on this car. To me its a win win. But people need to chill out, the 335i is a tight ride. but for someone like me who wants to heavely modify my car and people who know me from chicago will attest, I will push my car to the limits. I dont care if Im going for a hour long drive or just down the street but im always balls to the wall. Just something for people in my shoes to think about. |

The 135 looks like a great car. I just think we need someone to weigh one on delivery to settle the issue. Whether it's 100lbs or 400lbs less it will be an awesome rocket ship.
I would think the US car would be heavier just from an emissions standpoint to meet CA Guidlines, but what do I know.

I find this all funny how people are getting so heated over this. Honestly it is a bmw, we should all be happy they are making a car that is going to be a rocket ship. Say it does all the 335i does, and is cheaper, still that is great! I think it will handle better and maybe outperform the 335i by a slim margin. The 335i is a sick car though, I would love to have one, but right now prefer the 135i, alot because it is cheaper. I find it funny how people can judge the looks of a car they have not seen in person. I'll admit there are some things looks wise about the 135i I do not like, but hey Ill have more money in my pocket. Zeroday you put down this car in every way and you do not even have a bmw, let me guess you plan on getting the 335i, because you know, it's the sexier fat lady of the two.

bunch of hater and babies in here. The way you guys are arguing about trivial, subjective bullshit is really lame. The most pathetic og the bunch are you guys that get all butt hurt and bitter and start lashing out and getting pissed. You read a spec sheet and you think it makes you an expert? It doesn't. Drive the car, then you will know. end of story
