Hi guys, yip me again with yet another issue, this is the worst car I've ever owned :-(!

Recently had issues with rear screen not heating and comfort lights not coming on, turns out I needed a new battery at £246!

Since replacing the battery about 5-6 mins into the journey I get the DPF light appear. If I continue driving and do a check control the error is gone. I've gone on two 20 minute journeys in 4th gear between 2.5k and 3k revs the error appears but then disappears when check control check done. However next day same scenario again!

Does anyone have any tips or pointers? Really love the look of the car but every other month something goes wrong :-(!

3 cracked wheels, bought new alloys issue solved! Squeaking suspension, replaced all bushes, problem solved! Electrics failing, battery replaced, issue solved! Now DPF, all this in a year of ownership, though the German cars were reliable, had an Astra VXR before this and really regret the upgrade!

Helpppp before this gets traded in!

Thanks,
H

Now the cracked wheels certainly can't be BMW's fault right?

Many of us are posting the problems we had with this model in the above topic.
Maybe you can find some similar issues there.
Carbon build up appears to be a common term used here.

Haha of course not, none of these issues are BMW's fault

you need to go on a normal trip to rule out the DPF, just cruise and let the DDE go through a regen, dont drive in 4th gear. If you give it a chance to go through a regen you can at least rule that out.

This is a new one for me. I haven't seen anyone on this forum post a DPF light question in a while.

DPF is one thing my car never had an issue with.

Yeah, I've only seen a couple DPF problems ever posted here or on bimmer fest. [Sarcasm ON]Of course they've been around on BMWs for more than 10 years in Europe and are well tested, unlike the SCR/DEF.[Sarcasm OFF]

Last time I took my car to the dealer was due to a DPF warning I got. The car is still there, but you all know my story by now.

Would you suggest just a normal 30 min drive then? I thought 4th at 2.5k revs would heat the engine and force the regen? How do I know the regens been done when the warning light doesn't stay on the dash or check control, anyone know?
