E90 330xi doesn't like 19's, but I do. What to do?

So I bought this car with what I believe are AvantGarde M5 reps (model is M355, I think) - they're 8.5" in the front and 10" in the back, and it's running 235/35 and 265/30 tires.

I live in Seattle, and my commute seems to always have some kind of construction and new potholes. It sucks. This thing rides fantastic, but come across a small pothole or an uneven gap in the road and it hurts (the car!).

So right now, I have one bent wheel, one cracked wheel and a tire with a severely delaminated sidewall (which probably happened on the same impact that caused the crack). I'm also constantly parallel parking, and since the tires are narrower than the wheels, even if I barely touch the curb one in ten times - well, let's just say my right rear wheel is not looking too hot.

SO I'm buying new wheels and tires!

I'd greatly appreciate any sizing recommendations. I'm trying to come to terms with the fact that I'll probably end up with 18s. I'd love to keep the staggered setup, too - but maybe it's more practical to run 8.5" all around (could I fit 9.5"? seems to be conflicting opinions about this)..

Really, I just want to go like one notch back towards practicality from where I'm at right now.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

check out Apex ARC 8 18". You should be able to fit 245f and 265r and even 255 and 275 maybe. I would get concave 9-9.5f and 10r. I use 17" 9.5 255/40 on track but have camber plates in front. They are very light and strong. I like hyperblack. 19" are brutal on rough roads. Contact Apex and get their recommendation.

Ultimate practicality for you would be 18x8.5 ET35 square, with some spacers in the rear. You could run a 235/40/18 tire on them, and rotate them at will.

It should look like this without wheel spacers, so you'd have some room to push the rears out.
