Bluetooth phones and idrive

when ppl say their phone is fully compatible does that mean that the idrive will also show text messages up on screen too?!?

I don't think the E9x iDrive shows up any text messages from your phone, regardless of its compatibility level... I have a Sony K800i which is listed as fully compatible, but no SMS, just the full address book with multiple entries

The iDrive screen shows your alphabetized list of phone numbers, received calls, Top 8 calls, missed calls, plus the caller ID number that appears on your phone when someone calls.

I think if you have the full connecteddrive then you can get txt messages and emails in the car? I'm not aware of anyone who has that option on here though....

Oh, and what you doing next summer? Fancy a jaunt into France for some champage and wine tasting, not to mention food? Thinking of organising a little four or five day trip away in our cars... there's a thread on it somewhere!
