AW paint match....

Hey everyone,

I will be ordering OEM performance aero side skirts in AW color. My car is an '09 335i Msport. I am just a little concern about potential paint match issues since my car is 4 years old now. I've always taken really good care of my car's paint from day one and always garaged...well at least at home. Still, there's always going to be some fade or change in color overtime. For those that have done AW parts, have you noticed a good color match for your car...especially if your car is a few years old? Thanks!

I had the same concern too when I changed my stock rear bumper to mtech, as my car was about 5 yrs old, garaged less than 50% of the time, but I took my car to LTMW and they did a perfect job just using factory AW paint code. Just make sure to choose a good shop. Good luck!

Edit

Here's some pics maybe you can see for yourself the quality of the match. The part that was newly painted (just this past June) is the rear bumper, so compare it to the rest of the car it's an 08.

That paint job looks spot on from the photos. Thanks 4 sharing. I feel more confident now that it can be done.

all depends on the paint shop that you go to...AW is one of the harder paints to match.

As an AW300 alpine white owner I have found that AW covers grey/light parts correctly but other colors show tints of the color below.

A double hit is effective for getting the right match.

Have the shop remove and paint match from your fuel filler door and not simply rely on code formulas as they are inconsistent over the years.
