Wrong location on the navigation screen

For the last week, my navigation shows me to be off by about 30-40 miles, at times showing me driving through lakes and rivers. I have tried to reset it, but I'm not sure how. I have taken the disc out and put it back and nothing. At this point my Navigation is useless.

I have a 2007 335i with the professional CCC nav. I have not contacted the dealer and wanted to look and see if there is a fix here. I've searched the web and nothing.

I have also been looking at upgrading to the newest maps, but I'm not sure this will resolve this problem.

I would appreciate any help from the community.

Thanks!

Stefan

this might help you

Also, when retrofitting the CCC idrive, i remember someone mentioning to do something, otherwise the location would be off. I never did that "something", and my idrive works correctly. Does anyone else remember?

Thanks for the reply. Last night and this morning the GPS was fine. I don't get it. I read the thread and I was going to remove the battery connector next, but now it's fine. So messed up!!! I guess if it does it again, I'll try the battery and if that still doesn't do it, I'll take it to the stealership......

Any idea if this will happen if I upgrade the maps to 2013 or 2014?

So since last Friday the GPS/Nav is back to normal. I don't get it!!! I'm happy it's back, I just wish I knew why it crapped out to begin with and what changed to have it return back to normal.
