2015 C400 Vs 2015 335i

The c300 is now a 2.0L turbo charged 4-inline banger producing 235hp & 273tq, while the new c400 is now a 3.0L v6 turbocharged direct v6 with 329hp & 354 tq. Will 2015 be the year benz tops the 335i?

I'm confused. Why would the 2015 335 have different specs than the current one? It'll still be an F30.

It's a cycle that's been going on since the 1970's.

p.s. MB will never top BMW. NEVER!

MB has been on the up for the past 4 years. Don't know how you just noticed this.

Wouldn't be surprised if the F30 335i was behind the Benz already.

It would be a really boring world if bigger HP numbers was all it took to have the better car. MB hasn't been able to reproduce the magic that is a 3 series for many years running... more HP won't change that fact.

Maybe not but everyone knows for the general population body style and interior matter the most when it comes to what people choose.

MB is winning hands down in aesthetics lately. F30 is an abomination in the looks department. That lame new wood interior is horrid also.

The torque from that merc is insane.

They are very good looking cars, I wanted to get a C300 4Matic, but settled on the 335i because I need power. That and mercs drive like boats.

I agree

MB was always more of a muscle car to me. BMW is more of a "surgical" racer.

Otherwise it's just luxury v. sport.

I mean when you look at their engines compared to ours, they're much bigger, and even with forced induction, they can't match our power/torque or track/0-60 times.

Don't get me wrong, I love merc almost as much as BMW, but they could do better in these areas. The AMGs might make huge power, but we make nearly the same with less displacement and better economy.

I'd say BMW is doing just fine - have you seen the 2013 sales figures? Best year yet. Looks are subjective. I know plenty of e46 fans who hated the e90/e92 when it first came out. The interior of the e90, for me, was a huge disappointment compared to my e46. It grew on me over time, but it was never as lean or sporty. The f30 interior, while not great, is a step back in the right direction. I think the MB interiors look a bit dated. Again, all subjective. Sales numbers tell the final story though.

if merc wants the c to top the 3 in the eyes of driving enthusiasts, then they're gonna have to significantly improve the driving dynamics, which is something pure hp numbers cant fix. now that the 3 isn't as engaging to drive, i think itd be great if they can make the c more fun, but i'll believe when i see it. i get the feeling that merc is going after sales numbers, so they wont give a shit about making the c appealing to driving enthusiasts.

Go really fast in a straight line then eat shit on a turn? BMW might not have as much power, but we handle like no-ones business.

Still reminds me of the C63 AMG that decided he and I were racing. He took off like a rocket, but there was a 90 up ahead, he reefed hard on the brakes, wile I leisurely went into the turn and accelerated hard out of it. That and he has a goofy torque curve thanks to the V8, I have the awesome torque burst out of the turn that threw me way ahead.

Can't stand the damn F30... I don't like how the headlights and the kidneys are connected, and how the hood is arbitrarily cut before the tip of the kidneys. It just looks weird. In a year or two I will sell my 335 for a E92 (or hopefully E90) M3, or a 2011 335is. But no interest in getting into a F series until they fix it.

No matter what MB does, it'll still be a Benz. Owned one, and never again. BMW or the bus for me.

C400 only offered in automatic, just like the IS350, fail, fail, fail. Save the manuals.
