N52 328i single to dual exhaust conversion
Just another thread for people wanting to look at pictures for ideas. If you're worried about sound, drone/loudness, it's subjective. Just remove your 2ndary cats, resonator and muffler. My set up does not heat or melt anything and I've had this for almost a year now. I dyno'ed 185HP with this set up (cone intake and only resonator is deleted) Enjoy.
Here's the dyno, 2nd and 3rd pull. You hear more of the rollers than the exhaust, how sad. Last edited by Route 16; 03-12-2014 at 02:34 AM.. |

Very nice.
My duals are run with a y pipe just behind the resonator. I have no muffler and there is a mild amount of drone that causes my ears to pop when driving lol. Any advice on clearing that up? I love the way the exhaust sounds outside the car. |

Hmm even while cruising on flat roads it's bad? Is your y-pipe welded where the resonator was? I haven't tried this product myself but maybe 1 vibrant resonator would help around where my muffler is in the pictures. My suggestion though have 2 clamp on set ups, one quiet, one loud. This can be DIY in your garage. Buy the resonator, see how long it is and cut your midpipe to where you'll put the resonator. Use clamps at both ends to cover the cuts. The pictures below I'll be putting those clamps just right after the 2ndary cats but I'll be taking out the filling so it's a hollow 2ndary cat delete. So it is still an OEM looking set up.

Cool mod, I really appreciate the detailed pics. Makes me wish I went ahead and bought a welder to DIY stuff like this.
