e90 Subwoofer and amp install

I am wanting to install a sub and amp in my 2006 325i with the hifi stereo. I dont want to replace the radio or get a new head unit. I am confused with what wires to cut to plug into the amp. Do they have remote turn on wire that can be plugged into the amp or do i have to re-route one of the under the seat subs to the amp for the aftermarket one. Much help needed thanks!

Read the audio table of contents sticky, you'll find your answer there.

I have the same car, e90 325i with hifi system. Did you find a way to add a sub amp to the existing hifi amp? Is there a harness?

There isnt, but you can make your own. You need both the male and female connectors for the underseats. You need to make a T harness with the extra set of wires going to a line output converter in the trunk. Do this for both sides and don't cut any stock wires.

how do you make a t harness? can i just cut into the wires leaving from the amp in the trunk(its a lot less wiring considering you have to go under the seat and etc)?

If you have both the male and female connectors for the under seats you can extend the wires going to the underseats and tap into them. I wouldn't cut any stock wires if it is avoidable.

If you use both sides and you are using a mono amp it will combine the signals. Technic and Taibanl have posted the part numbers for the underseat connectors if you search for it.
