Does anyone dislike this too?

Does anyone dislike the gaps between the Exterior parts on some of the Bimmers, mainly the couple models.

Im talking about the gaps between Doors, Gas Tank Door, etc.

Maybe they could make the cars all in one piece, this way we could climb into our cars like the General Lee, and never have to fill up on gas!

as some one that painted cars for longtime and body shops is where i grew up. especially working on low riders. i know what you talking about. even though gaps have gotten much better in last ten yrs. the american car where the worse. i recall taking fenders apart and shims coming off by the dozen. and took a toyota/bmw apart and can put the new fender back on with no issues.

BMW are not the worst here by far ( I would disagree ), I have been doing body work for the past 20 years, so I could be called an expert.
The works cars ever that I have seen were Saturns, you could literally stick your pinky fingers in between hoods, fender, and the trunk .... Domestic, are the easiest to work with, it does not matter how you fit panels, they always FIT, bug shims, long bolts, huge washers, even if the car is out of wack, you can still put it together and it LOOKS OK.

If you want the precise fit, 3mm gaps you have to get yourself Lexus or Acura. No room for error here, you will be penalized for the smallest mis-fit of the parts, and no matter what you do it will look like crap, after you are done.

Bmw, Merc usually have larger gaps 4-5mm, but the panels are nicely rounded at the edges, and the actual ends of steel ( stamped edge ) panels will not CUT you as you are working them ( body work that is ). On any Jap car ( any car ) your standard edge is sharp ( stamped edge is not trimmed ), and the ends ( edges )are not as forgiving as you work on them, if you are not careful it will cut your finger like a knife.

SO I still like any German product over any other one out there.
That is why I'm driving them
That is my 5 cents worth
Now I'm going for my beer
Cheers

I know what you mean, but I don't mind the gaps on e90. I was considering a c-class when buying my e90, but hated the gaps on the merc (c class only).
