Installed V2 last night - Did yours feel slower?

First off, let me say the installation was very easy. Nothing special going on there. I had some issues connecting with my laptop, then finally it was able to load up the firmware and 2.0.1 map.

I never test drove it untill this morning on the way to work. No codes, no lights, very smooth running. I had to wait about 8 min for the temp to get up since its 37deg here right now. After that, I went to my typical "stomp on it" spot and ran through the gears as I normally would.

If definately feels slower. Smooth, but slower. In fact its not doing the nasty rear end kick & walk that it used to do into second gear.

No boost leaks or anything, since the gauge is still showing 14.5 (ish) Does it take time to adjust or something?

Ive heard some folks unhooked the battery. Wasnt that after running it for a while and the ecu adapting? It hasnt had any time to adapt to anything yet since Ive only done 2 pulls. (1st from 10-70 and then a 3rd gear pull).

One more thing. Power comes on noticeably different when just strolling through the neighborhood slowly. I shift at very low RPMS when puttering around there. Before it would be sluggy (since the rpms were so low) then the power would surge on strong until the next slow speed shift. Just an observation, but not necessarily indicating anything. Heck, its probably a good thing.

Thanks

Did yours adapt? What the heck is it adapting to? I always thought the PROcede was intercepting the signals going to the ECU. So that would mean the PROcede itself is adapting to something.

Its to early

yes, it took a day or 2 before it felt like it was running at full strength. it not only intercepts the signal, it modifies it. The ECU then has to adapt to the new operating parameters...

V2 is really a night/day difference from v1.47...not sure what's going on with your car??? Did you leave the TQ Cuve at the default settings? Is the Valet mode set at the default 300rpm?

btw -- try running at WOT in 3rd gear until redline and shift into 4th gear (you'll be doing 110mph+ though) and report back to us then. Trust me...3rd gear with v2 is much stronger than with v1.47.

I havent touched (or even looked) at any of the settings. I just loaded the map, shut the hood and left for work assuming the stock settings were ok.

Its a slow day at work, so I should have time to check that out this afternooon.

interesting....I am going to install my V2 tomorrow and see what happens.

Of course I am going from stock to V2 so any power gain will be a huge difference.

Keep us up to date as to what happens...

Sorry for the dumb question, but I assume you also loaded the v2 firmware (before you loaded the v2.0.1 map), right?

If you think everything is wired up properly, then you can disconnect the black negative terminal wire from the car battery (in the trunk) for 1 hour...this will reset your ECU so it adapts right away.

Drive around for a few days to see if it's ok (more power than v1.47 of course). Try some WOT runs in 2nd and 3rd gear...you should feel a large power increase. If it feels the same as v1.47, then either call or e-mail Shiv or Dustin to see what went wrong. G/L.

I installed mine last night as well. It felt stronger the more I drove. I had one issue where in DS it forgot to upshift when I was racing a harley? Have to drive with it more.

Ive read several times that its gotta adapt. My car took a couple days of driving to get used to 1.47, it must be the same for V2. The DME needs time to get used to the added boost.

Disconnect the battery for one hour. Thats your first step. You should definately notice the difference in 3rd gear, the car will pull hard, all the way to red line. Before it would pull hard initially and then fade. Mine felt stronger right away, and got a bit stronger over the next few days (or it felt like it anyways). I had an issue with 4th gear, so I lowered my torque settings. Check your torque settings using the Vishnu software, make sure they start at 100% for the range between 1000 to 2000 rpms, then it should ramp down then ramp back up, finishing at 100%. Also check your valet mode rpm settings, they should be at 300 rpms.

You should be thrusted back in your seat in third gear from about 2500 rpms all the way to redline, thats how you will know its working. And like SFLgator said, watch out because the speed will build very quickly, and you will be at around 110 mph. Be careful.

Took 2 hours total from stock --> V2.

Initial Impressions: Feels slightly faster than 1.4X. No instant JERK around 3Krpm like 1.4 but instead, very gradual power. I haven't pushed it to its limits yet but this is just based on "spirited driving" last night.

For the Guys waiting to get to get their V2, the upgrade from 1.4 to 2.01 is not something to lose sleep over. V2.02 should be much better

MPG on my 22 mile commune on the freeway with very little traffic is 27.2 this morning. I reset the meter as I hopped on the freeway. I think this beats the stock car which averaged around 26.5-27.0 under exact same conditions...

Who said it was making more boost now? I made almost 1psi more with 1.47 according to the gauge. Thats not the issue. Its also very smooth as reported in the first post. No misfire.

Yup, as mentioned before, the firmware was loaded up. I dont even know if it would let you install 2.0.1 without doing so.

Let me unplug it this afternoon while Im in the office and drain the battery. Should I drive it home lightly, THEN romp it... or does it even matter after unplugging the battery? Lastly, did you have to do this?

Thanks

Power delivery is much more linear, the break-neck surge at 3k is mellowed. That's probably why it may feel slower, but it isn't! Allow to adapt and try some runs in the higher gears...that's where you can really feel the difference.

Eugen recommends unhooking the black negative terminal wire from the battery for 1 hour, and yes, I did this...PROCede v2 is smooth and powerful from the get-go!!!! Remember to try to run @ WOT in 2nd and 3rd gear (if possible)...on your way home from work; then tell us if you feel a difference.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you still cannot tell the difference after that, then either you did NOT install the v2 harness correctly or something is wrong with your car.

Speaking of ECU adaption. Now, how does the ECU respond when toggling to and from valet mode?????

I am going to guess that you did not blip the throttle out of valet mode or the setting is too high and you never got to the go fast mode.. Cause there really is no way not to notice the difference IMO.

Carveout I asked that question yesterday and Shiv said it made no difference on ECU tuning/learning flopping from valet to go fast.
