I'm game. Find out the info, and $$$.

Don't you have to jump with someone strapped to you? I would do it, but i gotta jump solo.

Solo cost more, you have to jump tandem if its your first time unless you have 3 hours to kill and get the training before hand. Ive found a couple companies. Why would you go solo?

From what I read (and this will be my first time also) You can apply for a special type of pass free fall accelerated or something like that (at least one place has that) where you sit in a class for x amount of hours and get certified. Personally im going with an instructor because god knows what im going to be thinking, for all i know i could pass out lol

Wow...where would it be? I would want to experience it, maybe my GF would too... I bet we would both be scared shitless though.

I can't even contemplate it, but I might go. always wanted to, but I would have to check to see if I had my balls to do it

So a big 6' Blonde GUY would be acceptable?

Just kidding

Baller has it right - Accelerated free fall is type of solo jump for beginners. It's basically a class (in SoCal it was a 4.5 hour one) and it's followed by an "assisted" jump. I had two instructors jump with me (one on each side), which held on to me until I was stabilized (facing down) and gave them the thumbs up. Then, the rest of the way down to the ground was on me. A true SOLO jump requires certification (when I lived in CA, anyway).

I did a tandem jump in Clewiston, FL and it was a little scary (plane, etc.). I've heard of a place in Homestead that has a first rate deal.

I'd love to join in and jump again, but not doing it since becoming a Father (my life insurance won't cover risky hobbies so no more jumping for me)

Whoever hasn't tried it, should definitely give a try though - It is a true rush!

You guys have balls! I have the biggest fear of heights I can't look down when going up escalators, see through elevators, balconies... LOL...

Good luck to you all.

Little to fear when skydiving... It's a short plane ride, that you happen to get off of before it lands. You won't need to look "down" until it's too late. Before you know, you'll be on the ground wanting to do it again!

I'm not big on heights either, but this is different. If you can fly on an airplane - you should try skydiving!
