Question 320i E90 2006 Engine Oil Leak

Hi

I bought this 320i E90 2006 last year and was told that there is a bit of an engine oil leakage but that is common among the 320i which are 6 - 7 year old. I thought of trying to get it sorted and went to Mike Webber's repair shop by the name of Pretige in Brisbane, for which i have heard good reviews. The quote for the repair for around 750 AUD which included

1. Front Crank seal for $500
2. Oil filter housing seals for $ 130
3. Vanos Seal for $100

i guess im okay with 2 & 3 but when i check the price for front crank seal, its not more than 40 - 50 bucks. So it does not make sense why the quote is $500. I have not spoken to the person who has given the quote yet but was wondering if it sounds a bit over priced to anyone else?

To strip out the radiator all belts and remove the crank pulley, remove the crank seal using the correct special tool. refit it all back in the car, replace the coolant and bleed the system i think that $500 is about correct for parts and labour.
You may also need a new fan belt, an alternator drive clutch and idler bearing.

All this is normal for that engine

Seems a pretty reasonable quote to me including labour.

Well it is an E90 and it has done about 85000 Kms. Anyways i took it to BMW who replaced :-

Vaccum Pump, Oil Sump, Vanos seal.

It did cost twice as much but i promised myself that this is the first and the last time I'm getting something done at BMW for this car.

I still go to Adelaide BMW but negotiate them down a little bit. I still pay a little more than an indy but idk I think it's a psychological thing that it's better.

I'm currently having this problem too but it's n54 with 120k on the clock. I'm about to send my car in for my every 10k interval service. Anyone having this problem on a n54?
