Interior trim respray to matt black
Well, after working my way through a number of different wrap samples and not finding what I wanted I decided to do a respray...
I contemplated a gloss black respray, but wasn't convinced it would work with my beige interior so I found a matt black that looks the same colour as the OEM black. here is what I was starting with: First I stripped it all out... Then it was time for a sand and prime: Tape it up: Prime it: Paint it! I even took of the climate control surround that was beige and resprayed it black to match. Put it all back together after a few coats and some drying time Then put it back in the car! All done! Couldn't be happier, it retains the matt finish that BMW love on their interiors and give the contrast I was after...

I like that... looks much much better. What paint did you use ?. I did roughly the same in mine with Car Dip... but with kids... it didn't last too well

I wrapped part of mine in satin black vinyl, looks pretty similar to the results you got and I think it looks great!
Impressed with the results you got from rattle cans, I've used matte black before and it can come out blotchy. Nice work |

nice, I like it, looks like your project turned out well, why taping out the openings??, I am thinking about spraying my wood trims as well, what paint have you use, how durable the finish is, reason I ask is that I have small dog and despite that I try to keep him on the back seats, sometimes he does manage to make it up front and I would like to know how easy does it scratch

Ive got a grey plastic e90/91 with CCC idrive set of trims sitting in my garage doing nothing if anyone was interested in them so they didn't have to use the original ones to spray or wrap.
i didn't bother putting them up for sale as I didn't think anyone would be interested |

This is not plasti dip, so should wear well. I put 2 coats of primer and three coats of black on. Then let it bake dry for 24hrs before using it, so fingers crossed. My trim had a couple of scratches on it any way, so in my mind this was a better solution. Looks good!

Superb work! Really transforms the interior and paint the climate control piece was a great idea.
1 question though...how did you remove the silver tabs on the ashtray covers? |

When putting it back together, just a small blob of glue on each prong will hold it in place. |

As ducky instructed, you can just loosen off the melted back with a flat head. A drop of glue to fix it back.
