Who are you insured with?

I've just renewed my next annual policy with Aami insurance for $2550 (which is better than previous, a few short of 2,800) and has got me curious to ask, who is everyone insured with and what is your age bracket?

Looking around for myself, Aami was by far the cheapest quote I could muster given my age (21) and driver statistics and would like to see if there are any demographics on which insurance companies here in Australia want as their customers. (Would they prefer customers aged 25-39, daily drives etc.)

It might even help a few people save a few bob.

Was paying $1200 with AAMI, 28, agreed value $60k. Then renewal came in last month at $2k, value dropped to $50k, so I told them where to go.

Try progressive, I was paying less than $1000 a year. I am over 30 though and have not lost any demerit points.

I think out of them all progressive are the only company I hadn't gotten a quote from, I'll look into it thanks, yeah I believe I have lost 3 so far if I can recall.

Cheapest I could find for my 320i is RACQ (I'm in in Queensland), about $850 per year. 21 yo, agreed value of 24k, excess of $1000

335i
Covered for $50 k, wheels and paint
Full comprehensive (opting to have highest adjustable excess)
$123 per month through Just Car. When I was shopping around, even with my 323i, Just Car were the only ones who would cover me because of the value of the car and my age. Rating 1.

I opt for my excess to be $3500 to keep the premium down. That probably helps?

If I am at fault once every two years I break even. Any less and I end up ahead. Looking forward to getting to a higher age bracket though for sure.

Just did a quote with Allianz for $85 per month ($950 per year).

Over 30, insured for over 30 only. $1k general excess. Plus $600 low experience excess. $2k theft excess. Garaged. Can't remember value if market or agreed. think market.

Used them for a few years now (had a 3.0L Subaru Liberty before and they were the cheapest too).

Here I was thinking I was one of the younger kids with a Bimmer haha.

(At age 24 in Melbourne): $1800 per year with Allianz for an agreed value of low 40k. I got my finance company to match the AAMI quote I got and they have allowed me to pay it monthly without any penalty. The AAMI quote was ~$2000 less 10% discount for doing the safe drivers course. Gonna see what else is out there once the policy expires as I'm now 25.

OP you should do the AAMI safe drivers course if you haven't done it already to get the discount. It's a bit of fun and a nice way to see just how much better our cars are at handling!
