TOP GEAR AWARDS comes to worst conclusion ever: E90 "an apalling car"

You'll never guess which car won the ugliest car of the year award on Top Gear!

Worst conclusion ever: E90 "an apalling car"

Anyone see Top Gear tonight on TV? Clarkson described the E90 as "an apalling car" and said it was uglier than this monstrosity:

What's this guy smoking?

Or even worse, the Ssangyong Rodius:

"Ugliest car of the year
This category was very simple - a car should be a thing of beauty. All of the companies here forgot that, and built a car that would turn the pope to drink. Nominees were: the Ssangyong Kyron, the Ssangyong Rodius and the Ssangyong Musso. The winner, this year, in a surprise decision from the judges, was the BMW 3 series - the world's most tedious-looking vehicle."

For the non-United Kingdom resident. Who the hell is Clarkson?

Wait I really don't even give a damn. That idiot clarkson should look up the BMW sales numbers.

He's this TV presenter in the UK who seems completely intent on damagiing BMW's well-earned reputation. If you ask me, BMW shouldn't give him any more cars to review and should sue him for such blatent lies about the E90! And the 1 Series too...

If this guy mysteriously shows up at some exclusive resort on an all expense paid vacation you know that BMW's competition is footing the bill.

I think BMW pays them to do it.

I always here them saying the cars are a piece of shit...even the M5 - he ragged on it for like 20 mins...then went on to say it's the best car he's ever driven...it's amazing.

Publicity is publicity. If it makes it into the papers that Topgear thinks BMW 3 Series is the ugliest car out there - it's free advertising for BMW. BMW knows most people don't think the car is ugly...but they are all hearing about the new 3 series?

Maybe?

I don't really take in his nonsense even though i watch the program Top Gear. I remember when he had the e90 on there in the last series he was going on about not being able to turn the voice prompt off in navigation as it was too complicated. Recently he had a 6series on the show and he was making a scene about how long it takes from 0-60 because you have to pick the h/p in the I drive menu. To me this is just pathetic; slamming a car becuase of your own incapabilities. I can turn turn the voice prompt off in 3 secs by pressing the button on the steering wheel.

He seems to be slamming BMW without any hardcore justification. But it doesn't matter because I wouldn't really want to buy stuff he likes, just take a look at the guy.

Forget the pie he needs chucking in some fresh manure.

If I'm not mistaken, he actually had some high praise for the new 3-series on his program--not the one you are recently referring to, but one that had previously aired.

Unfortunately I think you're mistaken - Richard Hammond had good things to say about it, but Clarkson was as in full idiotic form as he described it as having 'castors for wheels', it's owners having 'no imagination' and it being 'just 14ft of car' before throwing down the picture of the E90 on the floor in front of a cheering crowd.

Seriously BMW, sort him out - don't give him any more cars to review. He's not gonna give them any respect - he has a BMW hating reputation to uphold...

Although Clarkson has succeeded in one thing - he's won the jhbodle 'Wanker of the Year' award

Spot on! Thats the show i was referring to. Richard Hammond test drove it and was saying how good it was to drive but at the end of the show Clarkson had to comment on the 16inch wheels. BMW gave him the lowest spec e90 for that show. Does not understand that there are other wheels available, actaully I don't think I have seen in person or heard of a e90 on this forum with 16s.
