E91 touring rear seat removal/fitting
Anyone know how to get the rear seats to fit back in an E91 tourer, there is a spindle that slides from the small seat back into the larger seat back - I got them out but can't get them to go back in. Stuck.

There are 2 spindles for either side of each seat bracket, but you only need to remove the one in the larger section to slide it away from the bolted centre bracket.
Basically fit the brackets/spindles to the smaller section and fit that seat first. Then slide the o/s spindle on the large seat into the bracket against the small seat and line up the passengar (n/s) spindle/bracket with the holes to fix that one in place too. |

As above, start with the smaller backrest first - the one with the spindle in. Fit that but don't fully tighten the bolt, the fit the larger backrest - wiggling it into place.

Did mine a week or 2 ago. It is a massive pain to do and I thought I'd never get them back in haha.
Just do it like they say above, lots of wiggling and shoving and it eventually goes back on |

I just fitted a leather interior and the spindle on the leather seats was bent.
Looks like someone forced it when removing the seats previously, although I removed my cloth seats no problem without bending it. Where in Shef are you DuckySpud? |

thanks for the replies agreed as above, put the small side in first, dont secure it, wiggle the other side on, not as easy as it sounds, well done BMW on another great bit of design...
