Talking THE EAGLE HAS LANDED (E93 space/red/poplar/CSL)

Got her yesterday, It's been 6 months since I returned my M3 cab and have been driving my wife's fully equipped 330, so not exactly suffering. This also lead me to be quite familar with the current e9x interiors.

Having said that, it was fantastic getting behind the wheel of a convertible again but still having the solid closed secure roof (no rattle so far). I think I made a good choice. I was a little worried about getting a red interior thinking I would soon be bored not to mention it's a little pimp. But so far people have been flipping out over the car.

It's full load except for active steer (yuk). The CSL comp wheels are OEM and are perfect with the space grey. I also had the front aero lip on order from the dealer to install ... but I decided against at last second once I saw the car and realize it's quite nice as is. Yes the lip would def give more aggressive look, but I live just of a canyon with way too many dips & pot holes & remember how many times I cracked the bottom of the M3 ... I will suffer without (for now)

I have the front painted reflectors coming soon and am considering a turbo tuner. I think that while the proceed as more power, torque, etc ... i will be plenty satisfied with the turbo tuner upgrade and prefer the ease of the plug n play.

When picking up the car from dealer yesterday, there was a 650 cab delivery as well & the poor guy was looking at my ride shaking his head, like why did I just pay 25k extra for this.

Anyway, must go put some miles on Mulholland and PCH now.

Thx for everyones input all over this site which helped me make my order work just right.

Nice set up...love the CSLs. So those are the OEM M3Comp offsets? et44front and et27 rear? Any rubbing in the back? The original CSL wheel were et22rear, if I'm not mistaken, those would probably rub.

good choice man!!

THX guys !

Firstly & frankly, I don't know what the offset on wheels is. I do know that it is bmw compliant as the wheel shop that works with my dealer was very careful in doing so as the car is a lease and we didn't want any issues down the road. I have already driven it somewhat agresivley and it feels great ... no rubbing.

I am suposed to go back to wheel shop in 300 miles to re-adjust for a potential torque change (whatever that means) and will inquire as to what the offset is & post.

As for dropping & front lip ... NO CAN DO (for now anyway) ... I travel too much on a very rough canyon road every day to work & back and it's just not worth the hassle (and my bad back) ... I WISH !

nice ride...congrats!!

color combo is awesome; looks like they drilled holes for your front plate holder;

I love those CSLs wheels --- is the only way get them (OEM, not reps) is through BMW, off the M3?

Your car looks rad! Congrats! I see that you have bumper holes. Planning on plugging them or putting a plate on?

So a couple of things to reply to ;

1) CSL's riding on :
- 225 front width (40) - wheel offset 47
- 255 rear width (35) - wheel offset 27

2) front holes were drilled into bumper even after I WARNED DEALERSHIP (cause they did it the last 3 times too) NOT to put front plate on or drill.

I have no idea which mutt at the dealership keeps doing this. Anyway, i immediately removed the plate & frame and am now looking for a way to plug those holes properly. I will run a search, but if anyone already knows of plugs I can buy or has an alternate solution, please help.

THX !!!
