E90 battery problem
I have a E90 325i. About 2 months ago one morning the battery went flat (it wouldn't even unlock). I dismissed the issue because i assumed someone left a light on and no one drove the car for 2 days.
Yesterday morning, it happened again, and it went flat only after 6 hours after i used it. The electrics work now, but it's not enough to start the car. I took it to the dealer and he charged the battery overnight. He said there wasn't a problem with the battery and didn't see any obvious problem. 12 hours later the battery was flat again. Obviously something is discharging the battery when the car is not running. There are 2 things i can say. 1)The start/stop engine button is flashing every 2 seconds or something like that. I dont know if that's normal or not. 2) The bluetooth stopped working 2 days ago. It won't even go into the menu so that you can pair phones, turn it on/off etc. It just shows two dashes like when there is no phone paired. It also shows two dashes for the BMW assist icon, and that's something i have never seen before. It is also inaccessible like the phone menu. (Note: I dont have iDrive) Any ideas would be appreciated. |

thats pretty strange, why don't you just take it back to the dealer and ask what's going on with it? do you still have a warranty?

I have had my car for 14 months with 7500 miles. I went to the dealership for a oil change and to check a Logic 7 glitch.
The Service Manager Said " Mr---- you have take you car out 142 times for road trips less than 10 miles and 34 times more than 40 miles. He said that the bmw with Nav needs to be driven at least 20 minutes otherwise the battery will go dead. So if you take a lot of short trips, it will definitely affect your battery." How did he know this? All SA's have a docking station for the bmw key that tells them everything. Good luck and get it checked... |
