Rain won't wash away the prints. They can still get them if you pursued this route.
I've been thinking about it some more (particularly because I was disturbed by the images and the mentality of the person behind it), just use this as an excuse to get a replacement CF trunk. Dump the friends...their txt messages are contradictory.
