lol. I can do this and much more through traditional coding. I don't know where OP got this DVD but I'm guessing it was from dvdinmotion.com. Costs $170 for a DVD that's VIN-locked to work on 1 car. You can also get one that will do more than 1 car but of course it costs more, $459 for 3 cars ($153/car). I'm guessing one of OP's friends or something paid hundreds of dollars for the latter and then gave it to him. If the car limit hasn't maxed out yet it probably will soon.

2 possible ways this could be legit: 1) someone reverse engineered the method dvdinmotion.com uses and is now distributing it for free, or 2) someone cracked the VIN limit somehow. If either of these are the case I would be impressed.
