I had no codes when my eccentric shaft sensor crapped out. Made the car impossible to start.. took a LOT of attempts to start the car. Dealer told me it was hard to get it started when I dropped it off, too!
This was over a period of about a week.. just got progressively harder to start until I got frustrated and brought it in.
Approx $1500 out of warranty.
