"DSC Unit failed. Connected vehicle to battery charger and performed vehicle test. Found fault for DSC control unit and connector. Performed Test Plan. Checked wiring and fuses to DSC Control Unit. Wiring and fuses found OK. Concluded DSC control unit to have failed."

Is this reasonable? Could it be something else? Any guidance you can provide would be appreciated.
BMW have stopped selling cheap cores for these units.
I just had a DSC unit failure on my 2005 1-series. The replacement hydraulic unit was $2500.
Instead I bought an used unit from a 2012 3-series with low milage for $250, coded it with the correct VIN number and initialized the pressure sensor.
Works perfect.
In realoem it didn't seem like the 2012 unit would fit in a 2005 model, but it worked fine.

I used NCS expert to code the VIN and Rheingold to initialize the sensor.
