because, I dont know about your area, but people are scared about 'old' bmw, especially TT one.
You can find a in shape , no check engine, e90 335 pre lci, for 5-6000$ cad.
Add 2-3k$ in parts and tune , and its fast. And probably faster than any car in that price range.
