+1 I have cut myself too many times on the tail of a worm gear clamp!

I got a cheap pinch clamp kit from amazon and it works well for things like this. Just make sure to get one with large clamps. Many kits come only with 1/2" and smaller clamps. I actually ended up using PEX clamps from home depot when I adapted in the newer style reservoir and needed to clamp in the aluminum reducers. I didn't have the right sizes and the PEX clamps worked well in a pinch (pun intended). Note those clamps do require the the pinch tool (a pex one works well or many kits come with them).
