I just wanted to say thanks so much for your tips!!! We had an excellent time last month and it was very warm and sunny at that time (rare for early to mid Nov). The duck tour gave us an excellent overview of the city (and the Charles River ) and we then focused on various sights. We visited the North End (few times), Boston Common, Beacon Hill (Charles, Acorn, Mt Vernon Streets, Louisburg Square, etc), Faneuil Hall, Downtown Crossing, Harvard, MIT, etc, etc, etc. Boston is a very walkable city when the weather is nice. We walked from MIT to the Top of the Hub for lunch with a view on a sunny day. Our hotel (Fairmont Copley Plaza) was at a very convenient location right across from the public library and within walking distance to the "T", Newbury St, Boylston St, the Prudential Center, etc. Heck, we even walked to the North End from our hotel once. I thought I would list some of these places to add to this thread for future visitors to the city.

BTW, the food in Boston was excellent!!!

So Tim et al, thanks so much once again for your suggestions. I greatly appreciate it!!!
Glad you had an awesome time in Boston
