Welcome, Xander. What's your mod list? What wheels are those?
Those of you at the meet on Saturday saw how my rear window tint was messed up (bubbles, dot matrix looked like shit, a scratch here and there) - I dropped the car off at the Tint Shop today and they are fixing it for me. They said one guy did the side windows (which turned out fine) and another guy did the back window. Apparently he had a faulty carbon spray gun or something (not too familiar with the tinting process so I don't know what that means). But they are going to vinyl the dot matrix at the top down to the first defroster line; I went ahead and agreed to that since I have my doubts as to whether it would ever be right. The dot matrix is pretty extreme on BMWs, I can't think of a way around it besides sanding 'em off ... and I don't want to do that.
Guy at the Tint Shop said he had two other customers come in who had their cars done the same time as mine with the same complaints.
I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Apparently it is going to take like 5 hours to get it done. No charge for it, of course.
Edit: I got the car back. It's not 100%. Much better than before (no scratches or bubbles) and the vinyl at the top is done pretty well. Still some areas around the edges where the dot matrix isn't filled in; I think I should be able to get it out myself however. They said they had to do it 4 times to get it where it is now.
So, needless to say if you need your E92 tinted I can't recommend them. Nice and all, and they did a good job on my side windows, but the rear is not to the same level. Doesn't look bad but it's not perfect or close to it. :-\ I've seen a few guys on this forum spend over $500 or more on a tint, which is a lot than I paid but theirs are obviously done 100% perfect. Gotta pay to play I suppose.
