You DO need to drill a hole at the bottom of the ashtray to guide the phonecord through for the concealed display. I drilled it while it was still in the car because I didnt want to remove the whole shifter and boot. Just lay a blanket or towel over the console area to catch the shavings.

sounds very straight forward, do you have any pics where it shows how to remove that center console?
i really really appreciate your help with this. Where did you ground the hardwire?
